This woven stainless steel wire mesh has a 1.25 mm aperture and a 0.4 mm wire, which works out at 16 mesh. It is woven from AISI 304 (EN 1.4301, V2A) stainless steel. The 1.25 mm opening is the classic insect screen size: it keeps out flies, wasps and mosquitoes while leaving most of the area open for air and light, and the stainless wire does not tear, rot or discolour the way fibreglass or plastic screens can. The 0.4 mm wire is stiff enough to sit flat in a window or door frame without sagging. We cut every sheet to your exact width and length, so it fits your frame, vent or grille straight away.

- Is 1.25 mm fine enough for mosquitoes?
- Yes. 1.25 mm is a standard insect screen opening and keeps out flies, wasps and mosquitoes. For very small insects such as midges, choose a finer mesh around 0.5 mm.
